The Featherston chair, more properly known as the Contour R160, was designed in Melbourne in 1951 by Grant Featherston, its elongated wing-back and scooped-shell seat the very incarnation of the Atomic era.

It's the one Gordon Mather – who has made Featherston furniture under licence since 1989 with the blessing of Grant's widow, Mary – knows customers are referring to when they call. It is also, sadly, this country's most counterfeited original.
